INSTALLATION
There are many methods that can be used to install your visor storage
(VizorStor) system. I have found the following method to be the
easiest for me. Usually the only tool you will need is a T20 Torx
drive or phillips screwdriver. I have also found that a couple pieces
of doubled sided tape can make the job easier. The tool required
depends on what screws were used by the factory to mount the vehicle’s
visor. For a PDF of this installation page for printing, just

-
Remove the vehicle’s existing visor and mounts. Pay
attention to the original positioning of the mounts. Some factory
mounts, such as triangular shaped pivot mounts, can be installed in a
various positions, but will cause the visor to work improperly and
interfere with the VizorStor system if installed incorrectly.
-
Place a piece of double sided tape on the back of the
VizorStor mounting plates and then adhere them on to the headliner
over the appropriate mount cutout. The purpose of the tape is to
temporarily hold the mount plate while you reinstall the visor.
-
Place the vehicle’s mounts on top of the VizorStor
plates and tighten the screws to a point where the mounts are secure
but still loose enough to adjust the VizorStor plates positions. If
additional equipment such as radar antennas or video cameras also use
the OEM mount points, you may need longer screws.
-
Install a torsion spring onto one leg of the VizorStor
frame’s pivot arm and insert that arm into the pivot point of the
mounting plate.
-
NOTE: The torsion springs are wound in opposite
directions and the legs of each spring are different lengths. When
installed correctly, the longer legs will be next to the clamping
frame and pointed toward the top of the frame.
-
While holding the clamping frame and spring in place,
insert the remaining spring on the opposite pivot arm and gently flex
the frame in the middle so the arm can be inserted into the opposite
pivot point.
-
Center the mounting plates under the vehicle’s mounts
and assure all spring ends are resting on the spring pads. If
everything is correct, tighten the mount screws.
-
If your VizorStor frame does not fit the headliner
evenly, it can be shaped to fit the contours of your vehicle. The
Dodge Charger is a prime example.
